About OhMyCatch

OhMyCatch is a local-first personal fishing journal for iPhone. Your catches, photos, and spots stay on your device. No OhMyCatch account is required.

AI Fish ID & Premium

AI Fish ID is an optional Premium feature that analyzes your catch photos to suggest likely species matches. It requires an active internet connection, a selected catch photo, and an active Premium subscription (including 250 recognitions per monthly quota period). AI suggestions are informational; always confirm or correct the species before saving.

Restore Purchases

If you completed a subscription purchase but Premium features appear locked, open the subscription sheet in the app and tap Restore purchases. Also ensure your device is signed into the Apple Account used for the purchase.

Managing Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iPhone’s Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, or via the in-app “Manage subscription” button in Settings.

Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone, inside the OhMyCatch app sandbox (local database and files). Uninstalling the app removes that local data.

Why does OhMyCatch ask for location, camera, or photos?

  • Location: optional, to show you on the map and record catch locations you choose
  • Camera / Photos: optional, to attach catch photos or save catch cards to your library

You can deny these permissions and still use the journal with reduced features.
